It is seen here in Montana Canyon taking passengers on The Olympian anxious to see the wild West that they'd only read about.
Wish that was still possible today.
Oct 20, 2011

Can't read the date on the postmark, but probably from the mid 1920's with a two cent stamp. A son wrote to his mother back in Mass. to say he'd found work in Bangor, Wisconsin. At least he didn't ask that she send money.
Oct 16, 2011

From these cars one finds thrills anew in the glorious scenery and in the zestful mountain air."

A passenger named Grace sent this postcard to a friend or relative back in Kansas City, Missouri in June 1936. She comments it's been raining a lot and seems the rain comes in both sides of the open observation car.
I guess getting wet didn't enhance her delight of travel, but she didn't get any soot or cinders.
Oct 15, 2011
